The US Department of State ordered the closure and evacuation of its consulate in the city of Basra, Iraq, due to attacks on recent weeks. On Friday, some media outlets hit three rockets near the US Consulate in Basra. However, an hour after the release of the news, the Iraqi al-Sumariya News reported quoting a source of security in Basra province denied the rocket or missile at Basra International Airport near the US consulate.
But in less than a few hours after the announcement of the interim closure of the US consulate in Basra on the pretext of security threats, the US State Department in a statement reiterated its concerns about the general situation in Iraq and warned US citizens about the abduction and violence operations in Iraq.
The US diplomacy apparatus in a blatantly propagandistic that allegedly killed several social and economic life women activists of Iraq called what “terrorist and rogue gangs” has been accused of continuous murder of military and civilians in Iraq. The US Department of State has also claimed that Iran-backed sectarian militia groups (US-Saudi-Ba’athist interpretation of the Iraqi Popular Forces) may target Iraqi citizens and companies in Iraq.
On the contrary, this claim by Americans has been met a reaction by Iran. A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has unequivocally described the claims and allegations raised by the Americans in justifying the closure of US consulate in Basra, saying: “The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns any offensive to diplomats and diplomatic places, and the ridiculous justification of the closure of the United States in Basra, which was followed by days and weeks of propaganda, and predictions and allegations against Iran and the Iraqi forces, is a forward run away and far-reaching and suspicious move.
Qasemi added that although there are several indications of the intrusion of foreign agents into the brutal attack on the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Basra, the childhood justifications of American authorities to adventure and insecurity in Iraq and the pressure on the government behind this show is well known that it is, of course, a wrongful and totally condemned act.
The closure of the US Consulate in Basra lasted less than a month after the attack on the Iranian Consulate in Basra and several Iraqi government agencies, when Iran began its consulate 48-hour after the attack in Basra. This was done with the efforts of all the Arab tribes, along with the Iraqi government, and in the conditions where the attack on the Iranian Consulate was considered to be fully coordinated and carried out with a central American role. The United States, however, has just decided to shut down its consulate and transfer its diplomats.
There is a lot of speculation about the insistence of the United States in recent times on the insecurity of the general public in Iraq, which summarize these perspectives in three scenarios:
* Increasing pressure on Iraq to bring an arbitrary US government and the separation of the new Iraqi government from Iran.
* Space for handling potential military action in the area.
* A clear strategy of pressure on Iraq and Iran by Donald Trump’s government to milking most of the Persian Gulf sheikh nations.
The scenario is that, at the same time, representatives of Congress passed a law draft on Friday, according to which the Shiite forces are being sanctioned and included in the list of terrorist groups. It seems that these chain events are not related to each other, and in one set, these events can be analyzed in a scenario with multidimensional objectives against Iraq and Iran.
In fact, the decision to close the US consulate in Basra from Washington and the accusation of Hashd al-Sha’bi forces have been happened by the White House officials in recent months trying to keep the political branches of these forces who were able to gain significant seats in the parliamentary elections away from Iraqi politics. In fact, the United States is attempting to justify its intervention in Iraqi affairs by filing allegations such as preventing the prime minister and government close to Iran. Iraq is of great importance to the United States, because Washington, by the 2003 war against Iraq and the overthrow of the Ba’athist regime, has tried to make Iraq a model for other Middle Eastern countries, but Iraq is now taking an independent policy and even not allowing to use its geography against Syria and is somewhere near the axis of resistance. The Washington government is trying to engage in the process of forming the future Iraqi government and bring a dependent and affiliated government in the country.
